Merry Christmas to #TheAviators #Angels Family

Merry Christmas to #TheAviators #Angels Family
I would like to wish everyone that has flown with us over the past year a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
I’m not one for keeping stats about how many flights we have flown over the past year. All I do know is that the last 2 months have been very busy. Yet, without fail, every time the call for help has come, we have responded. Not just responded, but we have given of our hearts and reached out to others in their time of need. I think that represents the true nature and magic of Christmas and you show those traits throughout the year. What a marvelous place this world would be if kindness and compassion ruled the day, every single day of the year.
Thank you to all who have flown with us in the last twelve months. I may be the one who coordinates the tributes, but each and every one of you breathes life into them.
A special thank you goes out to all of you that have chosen to become flight leaders. Without your dedication and devotion our squadron of angels would have disintegrated into dust a long time ago. You have no idea how much you have helped me. Anyone that has organized and led tributes on a regular basis can tell you how hard it is. To have a group that is ready to share this burden has been amazing.
From December 21st until January 4th, the angels’ squadron will fly no missions. I will still be available to talk to those that have recently lost pets. We are taking this time to recover from a stressful period and to be able to dedicate ourselves fully to our families.
Thank you again and Merry Christmas,
Angel Peggy

To those of you who have experienced the death of a pet or animal during any time period that was special and beloved to you:

#TheAviators  –   @theaviatorsclub  is a Twitter club (organization) of goggled anipals that Twitter fly Quarterly Tribute Missions.

The Quarterly Tribute Mission – OTRB Remembrance Day – is for honoring and remembering pets and animals that have passed away.  OTRB means “Over The Rainbow Bridge”.

Please see the Time Zones and Cities Chart further below in this post for the scheduled time in your part of the world.  Each flight is a one hour program.

Invite

Club members (Twitter flyers) prepare their own tribute lists and bring them to their flights.  We invite YOU,  both humans and anipal Twitter accounts to remember (tweet your OTRB pictures and/or memories) during these #TheAviators Quarterly Flights.

HOW TO TAKE PART and JOIN-IN

YOU CAN REMEMBER a pet or number of pets that have gone OTRB at anytime in your lives and YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO SO.  Simply tweet in remembrances of your departed pet (pets) with a picture or a few tweets of  your great memories, using the hash tag #TheAviators in each of your tweets. (No need to put in a twitter address,  just the hash tag #TheAviators works well.)

#TheAviators Hash Tag Tweet Page ( ALL TWEETS as shown on direct Twitter) to be able to follow the flight program

Special note to the anipal hash tag groups we send this invitation to – if you need to include your hash tag with ours to tweet-in, we are ok with that.   An example would be like a pet gone OTRB that is a #wlf member  (#wlf means Whiskers Liberation Front).

Guests with  protected tweets locked account that want to be seen in the hash tag stream during the mission will need to unlock your account to be seen in the #TheAviators hash tag stream.

#TheAviators fly twice on October 17, 2015 – so that pets world-wide may be remembered at the time most convenient to those who would like to  honor them with tweets.    Each Flight is a one hour program.

October 17, 2015   –  Time Zones and Cities Chart – Select the city closest to where you live for both sessions, check the time.  Then choose the session and time that is most convenient for you.  Clicking on the chart will enlarge for better reading/viewing.   Mission Leaders will be announced once they have volunteered and comfirmed.

BRAND NEW AVIATORS – the two most important things besides your wonderful enthusiasm is  (1)  to have your call sign (personal flight name).  Here’s the chart to pick one out – if you have not done so already and (2) use #TheAviators in all your tweets when flying. All #TheAviators are welcome to Twitter fly missions. ( YOU DO NOT NEED YOUR BASIC FLIGHT SCHOOL LICENSE to come fly and join in the fun!)

#TheAviators  Adventures held on Twitter are step-by-step shown with pictures from your Flight Team Leader.

During any Adventure Flight – IF #TheAviators hash tag is moving too fast for you to follow, it is fine if you want to switch over to your Flight Team Leader’s tweet page to follow along.

Small or mini-adventures no flying certificates are issued.   An Adventure certificate is  given for flying by @ToddyFur for the large adventures.

The Aviators Angels: 1 year of miracles

It was about 13 months ago now that #TheAviators #Angels idea was first conceived of. The angels’ squadron was born out of tragedy, when my good friend @Reine1Reine went over the rainbow bridge. Her crossing over was very sudden and unexpected.

I was talking with Reine’s Mum afterwards. After expressing her gratitude, we discussed the need on twitter for a group that would respond when people were experiencing a beloved pet in peril or a pet that was crossing the bridge.

As both of were members of the aviators club, the solution was obvious; it should be our club that should do it. I’ve told the story many times of the countless emails and work that went into the founding of #TheAviators #Angels.

When the group started, my expectations were to have maybe a dozen people that would fly when they could. It wouldn’t really matter, as there couldn’t be possibly more than 1 or 2 flights a week – if people would ask for our help. From my point of view it was far more important to support and bring comfort to those in need of emotional support and with no one else to turn to.

There were a lot of missteps in those early days as I made plans to do a flyby with a missing man formation for some service dogs that had crossed the bridge in the line of duty. I was gently reminded that that was not who we were as a club. We do not chase ambulances! Duly chastised and with a new understanding of our mission I planned our first flight. That first flyby, to announce our arrival and our mission was but a glimpse of what was to come.

We have come such a long way since that first flight when an escort flight to the rainbow bridge and a rainbow bridge flyby simply did not exist. As membership and demand for flights grew so did the need for change. I felt like a proud parent as a group of newly minted flight leaders took to the sky and continued what I had started. Each adding their unique touches, but that never bothered me. I owe that group of flight leaders a lot as they took over part of a heavy burden from my shoulders.

I look back to last spring and summer and I really don’t know how we got through it all. There were short notice flights and multiple flights in one 24 hour span. We even expanded our flights to include angelversaries.

Yet here we are a year later and I am still convinced that our most important mission continues to be providing comfort to those who need a shoulder to cry on.

If you know someone that does not believe in miracles, tell them to watch us fly. We are a group of individuals from around the world uniting to provide comfort and emotional support for someone in need. I don’t think there is any better example of a miracle.

Congratulations to all the members of #TheAviators #Angels! You have made this year truly special and made a difference in so many people’s lives.

– Mundare Peggy Angels Squadron leader

#TheAviators Graduates NOV DEC 2014 – JAN 2015

Congratulations and well done to #TheAviators graduates of Basic Flight School held in two sessions on Twitter – Saturday,  November 1,  2014 and to those #TheAviators who have chosen or will choose to self- study the Basic Flight School slides and complete the quiz to earn their Basic #TheAviators Twitter flying license this quarter.

Leadership team overwhelming recommends individual #TheAviators to come to Basic Flight School and earn their license. ALL #TheAviators, please feel welcome and come fly for a refresher, to coach and/or mentor new flyers or simply enjoy a #TheAviators flight. The group fun, camaraderie and yes, even chaos of learning aviation terms and Twitter flying is without compare.

(Special Note: Any of #TheAviators may come and Twitter-fly at any time with or without having a Basic License. The license is an achievement we as a club are very proud to offer you to earn.)

SELF- STUDY – So what does “Self-Study” mean? JULY 27 and AUGUST 3 – SCOTLAND (HIGHLANDS) led by @MungoFuzzy  – Originally intended on July 27  to be a one flight small mini-adventure experience for #TheAviators to fly and demonstrate how any member may put an adventure together – it was far too popular a first flight with abundant scenery, places, narratives and even one stop to design and loom one’s own Tartan.  #TheAviators in the Southern Hemisphere then specifically requested to have a flight (AUGUST 3)  in their time zones which also worked out beautifully for those of the United Kingdom and Central Europe who had not been able to fly the JULY 27 date.  We believe we remember hearing the descriptive words “smashing adventure” several times.  Intended as a demonstration flight,  no certificates were issued but an amazing amount of fun was had by all #TheAviators who had the opportunity to fly July 27 and August 3.

MAY 18 –  “SMALL ADVENTURE”  – a brief Sunday afternoon flight  around the area of Wiltshire in the United Kingdom led by @MungoFuzzy to demonstrate how any individual #TheAviators may put a flight together and fly at anytime.  This was a “just for fun demonstration flight” so no Adventure certificates were issued.  We blogged a bit about it. You may enjoy the pictures there.

2012 June Originators of #The Aviators Basic Flight Schools

Yoko, Irie and Lucky (Schnauzer girls) along with their typist Twitty @Twitelien put in hundreds of hours of daily volunteer services to #TheAviators from the May 2012 beginning through Summer 2013.  Their most well known and long-standing origination is designing and creating #TheAviators first Basic Flight School.

You know our “Lady-bug” backpacks we all fill to the brim with food and treats and beverages  and use each of our flights?  That would be from them.   Basic Flight School just went into it’s first updated edition via @ToddyFur in Spring of 2014.  The origin and foundation format all began with the Schnauzer girls and their typist @Twitelien.  @Pillstercat found us the original Lady Bug slide and we show you the most 2014 edition.

2013 #TheAviators JAN – JULY

2013 #TheAviators JAN – JULY (part of July)

(Editors note:  Twitpic @Twitpic is closing for good on September 25, 2014 forcing history researchers @3DogsWhite (us) to move at as rapid, even frantic pace to try to save as much #TheAviators  @theaviatorsclub on Twitter pictorial history as possible.

What “part of July” means = @DearClyde one of the co-founders began to make group pictures of #TheAviators that are already blogged.  We may have a tiny overlap in this blog (to be determined) so that we may if at all possible leave no  somewhat active status aviator out.

IF YOU CAME INTO #TheAviators between January and July of 2013 and cannot find a blog post with you in it, please contact us @3DogsWhite on Twitter.  —-> There are a few #TheAviators who received goggles and the club never heard from them again ever.  We have left them out.  The pressure of having a limited time deadline weighs heavily in that particular decision. – Daisy and Taz )
